The Classifieds provide our membership a place to facilitate commerce.

These terms may be changed at any time without notice.

 

Disclaimers:

 

Conserfariam and/or it's staff are NOT responsible for anything sold, purchased or traded in the Classifieds  (other than their own individual ads). Each individual dealer/seller/buyer is responsible for everything posted in their own ads. Please do your research on a dealer/seller/buyer before purchasing, selling and/or trading. Check for reviews and see if they're someone you feel comfortable in doing business with.

 

We do not get involved in transactions between users. We do not tolerate scamming and will mediate if the deal was done within our marketplace (private deals will never be mediated) and BOTH parties must be users. We will judge the available information and decide if there was a deliberate scam. If so, the scammers account is subject to suspension and/or banning.

 

Listing Policies

 

In an effort to help Sellers list items in an appropriate and proper manner, we've provided you with some guidelines below, which outline how items should be listed and how we deal with listings that violate our policies and User Agreement.

 

Illegal species and controlled species:

It is the responsibility of both seller and buyer to know applicable laws for the species you wish to sell. There are some species banned at a federal level that are outright not allowed on this site. Some species are legal to own but not to ship across state lanes. Other species can be banned at the state, county, or city level. Anyone attempting to sell illegal species will have their ad deleted and maybe subject to account deletion.

 

Terms of Service (ToS) & Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG):

 

ToS must be included in each and every ad, NO LINKS. Even if it is posted on your page, or referenced elsewhere on the website you MUST still fully type it out inside the body of each and every ad posted. However, if the ToS is not filled out with pertinent information this will result in the removal of your entire ad with warnings/infractions imposed.

 

LAG that explains and defines your Return/DOA/Refund/Replacement/Substitution policies in detail. Even if there is none and you do not offer any, then that must be stated in your ad. This is mandatory and must be fully typed out in each ad posted. This also includes ads that are for trade or local pick up. I will be providing more information and acceptable examples on a seperate page soon.

 

Pre-Sales:

 

No Pre-Sales. If it's not ready to be shipped at the time you post your ad, it can't be posted. This includes, but not limited to, anything that might be "coming soon", announcing or mentioning future stock (including pending orders, future shipments or imports, gravid females, egg sacs, newly hatched, etc.) or anything similar.

 

Auctions & Pricing:

 

Currently auctions aren't allowed but we will be looking into offering auction options in the future.

No implied auctions. You must include the asking price in your for sale ad, no exceptions.

 

    An ad such as: "pet $20 or best offer." is fine.

    An ad such as: "pet, make an offer." is not. 

 

Every item listed for sale in your ad MUST have a price. If you post an ad without a price (this includes ads with partial pricing), or if you link to a pricelist elsewhere, or link to an auction site, it will be deleted immediately.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Selling an item for the highest offer without a final price being set, is the same as an auction. On Conserfariam, OBO (or best offer) means that you are willing to negotiate for LESS than your listed final asking price. You MUST be willing to sell your item(s) for the final prices listed in your ad.

 

Location:

 

If it's not part of your user profile already, you must explicitly state your location in the classified ad. Your location should include:

 

    Your "City, State" - If in the U.S.

    Your "Town, Country" - If outside the U.S. 

 

Most of our users are American, but not all are, and we'd like to see this classifieds usable by everyone. Further, as international sales of many species may be illegal or otherwise controlled, people need to be able to tell what they're entering into up front.

 

Common Ad Prefixes

 

Each thread title must use ONE OF THE BELOW prefixes, which are provided at the time of posting, to indicate what kind of classified ad it is:

 

    WTB: Want to buy

    WTB/T: Want to buy or trade for

    ISO: In search of

    FS: For sale

    FT: For trade

    FF: For free

    FS/T: For sale or trade 

 

**Please Note: Breeding loans do NOT belong in this section. They are ONLY to be posted in the appropriate groups in the community section.**

 

"FF" (for free) ads are for what you are offering for free, NOT what you want for free. Solicitations for "free" stuff is NOT allowed.

Additional Notes

 

If you are selling exceptionally young or unhatched animals, it MUST be stated in your ad in the interest of Full Disclosure.

For people posting, please note ads in the classifieds are set to only show posts for specific time periods. (To prevent a build up of outdated ads)

 

    Free ads: 7 Days

    Basic members: 14 Days

    Standard: 21 Days

    Advanced: 30 30 Days

 

After these time periods have elapsed there is a brief period when renewing the ad is possible. This is to keep the classifieds from becoming cluttered with old posts.

 

Regarding International Sales:

 

As we are an international community here on conserfariam.com, we felt we should make this announcement.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer and seller to know the laws of their respective countries regarding the import/export of the goods they are dealing in.  For those members residing in the United States, it is ILLEGAL to import or export without the appropriate permits. If the person you are dealing with has the appropriate permits for their country, that has NO bearing on the fact that YOU must ALSO have the appropriate permits in the U.S. "Brown Boxing"* is not only illegal, it's stupid. If you're caught, the least of your worries will be the impounding of the "Brown Box" and the worst could be some hefty fines as well as jail time.

 

Listing Your Item by Category:

 

Every item listed by Sellers on conserfariam.com must be listed by its proper category or categories. Currently conserfariam.com only allows one category for each listing. 

 

Items not properly categorized in their listing will be either moved by conserfariam.com to the proper listing location or simply deleted.

 

Duplicate or Multiple Listings

 

Duplicate or Multiple Listings occur when a Seller wishes to list multiple identical items for sale on conserfariam.com. Sellers may either list these items in one listing, denoting the amount of identical items they have for sale; or they may list the identical items separately.

 

Advertisements

 

Registered Sellers are not allowed to place advertisements in their listings on conserfariam.com, for outside parties, services or products, which are not relevant to the item being listed. The seller does have the right to list their own website or sites in their listings as long as the content of the website(s) in question are not in violation of conserfariam.com policies in any way. An item listing/description may only describe the item being listed on conserfariam.com and information about the seller.

Trade Items or Items Wanted Ads

 

(We will be creating a solution for trade/wanted/iso ads in the future) Currently conserfariam.com does not permit users to promote a wish to trade or buy items in their listings. At no point will soliciting for free animals or plants be allowed in any area of the site including classifieds, community areas, or direct messages. Legitimate institutions like schools can accept donations but soliciting donations should be confined to their own pages. 

Any listing found to contain requests for trade items or items wanted will be removed from the site.

 

Lotteries, Raffles, Prizes & Giveaways

 

Any item listing that markets lotteries, raffles, prizes, giveaways, random drawings or any similar event in an attempt to attract Buyers are prohibited to post on conserfariam.com, and are actually considered illegal sweepstakes in some states.

 

Any listing found to contain advertising for lotteries, raffles, prizes, giveaways, random drawings, sweepstakes, or any related event, will be removed from the site.

 

Other Listing Methods that Violate conserfariam.com Policies

 

* Keyword Spamming Extensive use of keywords, i.e. popular animal or plant species which are not available for sale in the ad, which are utilized to create appeal to Buyers or focus Buyers attention to a certain item listing.

* Deceptive or misleading item listing titles, keywords, or descriptions.

* Links to other websites are allowed as long as they meet the following criteria:

• Link is to a photo or graphic used to better display your listing.

• Link is to your personal or business website.

• Link is for 3rd party acknowledgements i.e. lineage info.

• Link does not lead to a website with material that would otherwise be prohibited on conserfariam.comLink is to a care guide for species being sold

* Failing to list pertinent information in a listing. Such as but not limited to selling an item that cannot be used unless an additional item is purchased from the seller without proper and complete disclosure.

* Listings that are strictly promotions or listings acting as a bulletin. No item is for sale the listing is posted information.

* Listings for non-tangible goods or services. For example selling care/breeding/propagation information.

* It is strictly prohibited to create a listing with Misleading Titles, description or photos. All listings must have consistent and accurate information throughout the entire listing.

 

These types of listing methods are prohibited on conserfariam.com and will be removed from the site. The use of keyword spamming is prohibited and may result in suspension or termination of a user account. Any listing found to be utilizing the above listing methods or links will be removed from the site.

 

Repeated Violations

 

If a Buyer or Seller repeatedly violates these any conserfariam.com policies or any provision of the User Agreement, the violators user account may be subject to suspension or termination.
